The lavatory had not been cleaned and was full of excrement
It was close to the beach, the staff was friendly and the hotel felt safe. I'm not sure we could do much better in Rio for the price.
The plumbing was not great. Hardly any cold water came out of the shower so you either got an extremely hot shower or you had to adjust the water to a trickle. The toilet didn't flush very strongly either. And sometimes our bathroom door would not close.
Old facility in need of complete overhaul
They offered a delicious breakfast buffet every morning. The location was excellent (a half block from Ipanema beach). The room was cleaned beautifully by housekeeping every day. The room, though facing the street, had a balcony with a view of the ocean.
My bed was two twin beds pushed together -- they kept moving apart as I slept. The Wifi, though free, rarely worked. The decor was desperately in need of an updating/revision. Calling the front desk from my room often resulted in a busy signal or no response at all.
The location is ideal and breakfast is excellent.
The service is weak whether waiting 20rings for the hotel operator to pick up, the bell man who never arrives, or the curt front desk staff
Good location, helpful staff, good-sized room.
It doesn't have a restaurant but breakfast at sister hotel's 23rd floor restaurant is good and it's only half a minute away. Noisy at night but so is the Othon.
10% cash service fee without receipt was requested!
Breakfast was decent.
Hotel is old and everything in it is dated. The air conditioner was rusted. The furniture was old and scratched. The price is outrageous for such amenities. I will go somewhere else next time.
Very aged decor, poor facilities and insects in the room.
Very good position in the center of Ipanema, the staff of the hotel is very kind and helpful
The location is excellent. The hotel offers a beach service.
The personel providing the beach service was not very helpful. The rooms, elevators, bathrooms and facilities in general are old and down run-down.
